Calendar
The calendar shows every post in your workspace: drafts, scheduled posts, published posts and posts that failed. Open it with Calendar in the menu.
Views
| View | Shows |
|---|---|
| Day | One day as a list of time slots: your posts’ times and your channels’ posting times |
| Week | Monday to Sunday, one row per hour |
| Month | The whole month, Monday to Sunday |
| List | Posts grouped by date, with their times |
The calendar and list icons at the top right switch between the grid and the list. Postra remembers the last view you used. On a phone, the calendar always opens in the list.
The arrows either side of the date go back or forward one day, week or month. Today jumps back to the current one. A grid cell shows up to three posts; + Show more shows the rest.
The list
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| All | Every post, newest first |
| Scheduled | Posts waiting to go out, soonest first |
| Draft | Drafts, newest first |
| Published | Published posts, newest first |
The list shows 100 posts a page. Use the arrows next to Page 1 of 3 (for example) to turn the pages.
Filters
Customers. If your channels are split between customers, a person icon (Select Customer) appears at the top. Pick a customer to see only the posts on their channels. To give a channel a customer, use Move / add to customer in the channel’s menu. See Channels.
Channels. With more than one channel, the funnel button (Show channels) lets you tick the channels to show. Select all brings them all back. While some are hidden, the button shows how many are on, for example 3/5.
The current time
In Week view, a blue line marks the current time: solid in today’s column, faint across the other days. In Day view, it sits before the next slot that has not happened yet.
Past slots are shaded and their posts are greyed out. You cannot add a post to a past slot or drop one there.
Create a post
Click an empty part of a future slot to open the editor at that date and time. In Month view, Postra picks a time on that day, which you can change. Or use Create Post. See Create a post.
Post tiles
| Tile | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft: before the text | A draft |
| No mark | Scheduled and waiting to go out |
| Green ring with a tick | Published |
| Red ring with ! | Publishing failed. Hover over the ! to read why. |
The thin bar on top of a tile has the platform’s colour. If the post has a tag, the bar takes the tag’s colour and name.
Click a tile to open the post. Hover over it to show its actions:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Open the published post | Opens the post on the platform. Shown for published and failed posts that have a link. |
| Post Statistics | Opens the post’s statistics. Shown once the post is published. See Analytics. |
| Preview Post | Opens a preview page in a new tab. Share with a client copies its link. Members of your workspace can comment there. See Share a post with a client. |
| Duplicate Post | Opens a new post with the same text, media and settings, at the next free posting time. |
| Delete Post | Asks Are you sure you want to delete this post?, then deletes it. |
Move a post by drag and drop
Drag a tile onto another slot.
- Week view: the post moves to the start of that hour.
- Day view: it moves to that slot’s time.
- Month view: it moves to that day. Use Week or Day view when the time matters.
Rules:
- You can only drop a post on a future slot.
- A draft stays a draft. Only its date changes.
- For a published post, or a scheduled post whose time has passed, Postra asks What do you want to do?
- Just update the post details changes the date in the calendar only. Nothing is published again.
- Reschedule the post puts it back in the queue, and Postra publishes it again at the new time.
- If Postra cannot save the move, the post goes back where it was.
Time zone and time format
The calendar uses your device’s time zone. To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour times, open Settings, then Global Settings, and pick AM:PM or 24 hours under Time format.
