Good to know
- Attachments. A post can only attach files that are in your Postra media library. Use
uploadFromUrlTool or mediaListTool first. The upload takes JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, BMP, TIFF and MP4 files up to 100 MB, from public http or https links only. For a file on your computer, use the Public API.
- Times. Dates passed to the tools are in UTC. If you write “9:00 UK time”, your assistant converts it.
- Plan allowances. Scheduled posts count towards your plan’s monthly posts. Drafts do not. AI images and videos use your plan’s monthly AI allowance.
- Moving and deleting.
reschedulePost and deletePost only ask. Nothing moves or disappears through MCP. Do it in Postra, in the calendar or with the assistant inside Postra. See What MCP is.
ask_postra. It schedules a request that names the channel, the date and time, and the text. If something is missing, it says what. Each question stands on its own, and it counts towards the 2,200 assistant questions a month. See Limits.
Example requests
Type these into your assistant as they are, with your own details:
- “Which channels do I have connected in Postra?”
- “Schedule a post on my LinkedIn for Tuesday at 9:00 UK time: We are hiring a part-time barista. Apply in the shop or by email.”
- “What is planned in Postra for the next 7 days? Did anything fail?”
- “Upload this image to my Postra media library: https://example.com/spring-menu.jpg”
- “Write a post about our spring sale for Instagram and make a matching graphic. Save it as a draft.”
- “How did my Facebook page do over the last 30 days?”
