Facebook or Instagram shows an empty list
After you sign in to Meta, Postra lists the Pages or Instagram accounts it may publish to. If it says We could not find a Facebook Page on your account. or We could not find an Instagram account we are allowed to publish to.:
- Click Remove the unfinished channel.
- Fix the cause on Meta’s side. Facebook needs a Page you fully control. Instagram needs a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page.
- Connect again, and tick every Page in Meta’s dialog.

A post failed
A failed post has a red ring and a red ! in the calendar. Hover over the ! to read the reason, usually the platform’s own error.
Postra also adds a notification under the bell (Notifications), such as An error occurred while posting on facebook, followed by the reason. To get these by email too, open Settings, then Global Settings, and turn on Failure emails.
Common reasons:
- Refresh channel needed: the channel lost its access. Reconnect it, then retry the post.
- Channel disabled: turn the channel back on with Enable Channel in its menu.
- The platform refused the text or the media. Check the rules in Platforms and settings.
Try again
Fix the cause first, then either:
- drag the post to a future slot in the calendar. Postra puts it back in the queue and publishes it at the new time; or
- click the post to open it, change the date and click Update. To publish straight away, hover over that button and choose Post now.
If the message says We couldn’t confirm your post, check the channel on the platform before you retry. The post may have gone out, and retrying would publish it twice.
If the post went out but a comment did not, Postra tells you. The comment text stays on the post, so you can add it on the platform yourself.
Problems Postra catches before saving
When you click Add to Calendar or Update, Postra checks each channel’s rules first. If something is wrong, a message names the channel, for example post is too long, please fix it or Your post should have at least one character or one image. The editor jumps to that channel so you can fix it. See Composer.
